Chemistry

Yesterday I taught to 3 very small chemistry classes due to most students taking AP tests. I had about 10-12 students per class (compared to 32-36) and the student engagement was phenomenal! I strongly support smaller classroom sizes and the hiring of more teachers. It's hard to believe that due to budget cuts, class sizes are predicted to increase to 40+ students per classroom next year.......
In my opinion, classroom size is directly related to educational quality. I hope the pendulum swings the other way very soon. Even the students at my high school are upset with this issue. I can barley fit 36 desks in our small room. Whats next, fire codes dictating the classroom size? Sardines?
